By 3 months, babies are settling in to their surroundings and developing close bonds with those closest to them. They are now better able to express their happiness with big smiles and animated movements. They become very excited when they participate in one-to-one games and have a longer attention span. They have now developed the ability to grasp objects in their hands and will soon be able to put them in their mouth.
Top Play Tips at 3 months
- Provide toys with bright colours and textures that are safe to explore with hands and mouth
- Finger puppets are ideal for introducing simple story telling, songs and imaginative play
- Tickling games provide positive touch - gently walk your fingers up baby's tummy and finish by tickling under the chin
- Encourage anticipation and surprise with peek-a-boo games
